Chronology

In the Indian Mutiny the 65th Regiment of Bengal Native Infantry did not rebel and, in the ensuing disbandment of Bengal Army regiments, it became the tenth most senior.

1861 became 10th Bengal Native Infantry
1885 became 10th Bengal Infantry
1897 became 10th (Jat) Bengal Infantry
1901 became 10th Jat Infantry
1903 became 10th Jats
1922 became 3rd Battalion 9th Jat Regiment
1947 allocated to India on Partition. and became 3rd Battalion Jat Regiment.
