Delhi-Samasata Railway
The Delhi-Samasata Railway was broad gauge(BG) line that opened in 1897 by the ‘Southern Punjab Railway’ Company’(SPR) connecting Delhi with Samasata via Bhatinda.
The railway formed the SPR ’Delhi-Samasata Mainline’, opened Nov 1897, 399 miles(642km) [1]
The terminus of the SPR at Samasata was an interchange junction with the North Western Railway(NWR) - Lahore-Karachi Mainline . At Bahawalpur it ran alongside the NWR track as far as terminus at Samasata [2]
