The Shivrajpur Light Railway

The 1916 report [1] states :- ‘The Shivrapur-Pani extension was opened for traffic on the 15th November 1916, was constructed to afford railway communication to the Manganese Mines at Pani and open out a tract of inaccessible country in the Barya and Chota Udaipur States... the construction work has been carried out by the Guzerat Railway Company who will also undertake its working’

The Shivrajpur Light Railway was in 1917 purchased by the Guzerat Railway Company [2] and created the Champaner-Shivrajpur- Pani Light Railway to form a group of four lines operated by the Guzerat Railway Company .

The management of the Guzerat Railway Company lines was taken over by Bombay, Baroda and Central India Railway(BB&CIR) in 1922
