- 1804 raised as 2nd Btn 29th Regiment of Bengal Native Infantry following 1796 reorganisation when previous 29th became 2nd Btn 9th Regiment
- 1824 2nd Battalion became 58th Regiment of Bengal Native Infantry under Major W Wilson
- 1857 disarmed at Rawalpindi 7 July
