The '''Narayanganj-Dacca-Mymensingh State Railway''' opened 1884-85was a metre gauge([[Rail_gauge_#Metre_Gauge|MG]]) line of 90 miles(144km) mainly for carriage of raw jute up to the inland port of [[Narayanganj]] and then onwards by river to [[Calcutta]].
Renamed The first section from [[Narayanganj]] to [[Dacca]] opened in January 1885 and reached [[Mymensingh]] in August 1885.
