Meanwhile the [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seven_Years'_War Seven Years War] had broken out which caused renewed hostilities between the French and British in the Carnatic. The British under [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eyre_Coote_(East_India_Company_officer) Carnatic_region#Sub-divisions_of_Carnatic Carnatic]. The British under [[Eyre Coote]] finally defeated the French. War broke out again in Bengal after a conspiracy by the Dutch but the British eventually prevailed with a final victory at Buxar.
