• 1751 renamed the 10th Regiment of Dragoons
• 1783 became the 10th (Prince of Wales's Own) Regiment of (Light) Dragoons
• 1806 became the 10th (Prince of Wales's Own) Regiment of (Light) Dragoons (Hussars)
• 1861 became the 10th (The Prince of Wales's Own) Royal Hussars
• 1921 became the 10th Royal Hussars (Prince of Wales's Own)
• 1969 amalgamated with the 11th Hussars (Prince Albert's Own) to form The Royal Hussars (Prince of Wales's Own).

There is some detail of the tragedy in the Cabul River and the cholera strike in A Short History. The image of the Memorial is also displayed above with all the names clearly visible.

William Maurice "Pat" Armstrong served as an officer in India with the 10th Hussars for 3 years from 1910 until the summer of 1912, when the regiment was moved to South Africa.
