Field Marshal Sir Charles Henry Brownlow KCB (1831–1916) was an officer of the British East India Company, who was commissioned into the Bengal Army in 1847. He served in the Punjab Campaign and became adjutant in the 8th Punjab Infantry which he raised. He fought in the Black Mountain Expedition 1852-53, Mohmand Expedition 1854, 2nd China War 1860, Ambela Campaign 1863, Black Mountain Expedition 1868 and the Lushai Expedition 1871-72. He returned to England to become Assistant Military Secretary for India.
