A valuable resource on all things sea-faring is the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich. Please visit their pages on Collections & Research and the Caird Library for more information. The collections cover every aspect of maritime history, the Royal and Merchant Navy, emigration, navigation, piracy, shipwrecks, biography, astronomy and horology. Specialist collections for researching family history, merchant shipping and warships are available. Also visit PORT, the Museum's gateway to online maritime information sources.
Information for individuals and the Royal Navy can also be found at The National Archives, and some information can also be found at the British Library.
