Summary
After possession of Malacca was confirmed in 1824, the British claimed the neighbouring state of Nanning. The ruler of Nanning resisted and an expedition was mounted in 1831 which achieved little success. This was followed by a larger force in 1832 which eventually captured the capital Tabu.
