- 1824 became 9th Regiment of Bombay Native Infantry
- 1885 became 9th Regiment of Bombay Infantry
- 1903 became 9th Bhopal Infantry
- 1922 became 4th Battalion (Bhopal) 16th Punjab Regiment
- 1947 allocated to Pakistan on Partition
