The Lahore & Peshawar Railway was formed between 1870 and 1871 to run from Lahore to Peshawar. It was named the Punjab Northern State Railway(PNSR)
It was a temporary line, opened c.1875.
With others, the Punjab Northern State Railway was merged with the Sind, Punjab and Delhi Railway in 1886 to form the North-Western State Railway (later the North Western Railway).
