== History ==
The first section from [[Hyderabad, Sind|Hyderabad]] to Shadipalli, 55 miles(88km), was opened in 1892 and originally constructed as a broad gauge([[Rail_gauge#Broad_Gauge|BG]]) line. This section also known as the [[Hyderabad-Umarkot Railway]]. This first section was converted to metre gauge([[Rail_gauge_#Metre_Gauge|MG]]) in 1901 and joined to the second section thus providing a MG connection from Jodhpur to Hyderabad

The branch line extensions to [[Jalor]] and, in the British section, from [[Mirpurkhas]] north to [[Khadro]] and south to [[Jhudo]] were opened by 1921.
