Formed in 1893 by Charles F. Reeve and ME.EW. Gavin McGavin in response to the request of an unnamed 'Eurasian' who had visited Reeve in Tasmania, Australia. An interdenominational, faith mission mostly staffed by Australians and New Zealanders.
In 1968 PIVM merged with the Ceylon and India General Mission to become the International Christian Fellowship, and then in 1989 ICF merged with SIM (Serving in Mission).
