Chronology
- 1825 formed as 2nd Extra Battalion, Bengal Native Infantry
- 1828 became 70th Bengal Native Infantry
- 1861 became 11th Bengal Native Infantry
- 1885 became 11th Bengal Infantry
- 1897 became 11th (Rajput) Bengal Infantry
- 1901 became 11th Rajput Infantry
- 1922 became 5th Battalion 7th Rajput Regiment
- 1947 allocated to India on Partition and renamed the Rajput Regiment
