- 1885 became 31st (Trichinopoly) Madras Light Infantry
- 1892 became 31st Regiment (6th Burma Battalion) Madras Light Infantry
- 1901 became 31st Burma Light Infantry
- 1903 became 91st Punjab (Light Infantry) Regiment
- 1922 became 3rd/8th Punjab Regiment
- 1947 allocated to Pakistan on Partition
- 1956 merged with other units to form the Baloch Regiment
