Railway connections - Katwa was a station on the East Indian Railway EIR Loopline and the Barharwa-Azimganj-Katwa Railway opened in 1913.
There were also interchanges with the narrow gauge Burdwan-Katwa Railway(BKR), opened 1915, and the Ahmadpur-Katwa Railway(AKR), opened 1917
