The Agra-Delhi Chord Railway was a broad gauge(BG) line built to provide extra track capacity between Agra and Delhi. The line was worked by Great Indian Peninsula Railway(GIPR). The line from Raja-ki-Mandi(Agra) to Delhi opened in 1904-5, a distance of 120 miles(193km). The line ran via Muttra(Mathura) and Kosi (Kosi Kalan) [1].

Agra-Delhi Chord Railway

A ‘Branch Line’ of 6 miles(9.5km) from Kosi (Kosi Kalan) to Sanket was opened in 1906 [1]. This branch cannot be traced on modern maps.

In 1911 a ‘Loop Line connecting Agra-Delhi Chord Railway with Delhi-Umballa-Kalka and Southern Punjab Railways’, a distance of 0.22 mile(250 metres) was opened [1].
