Baripada-Talbond Railway

The Baripada-Talbond Railway was a 2ft 6in/762mm narrow gauge(NG) extension to the NG Mayurbhanj Railway, owned by private company; worked by the Bengal-Nagpur Railway(BNR) [1]. The line opened in 1920

An on-line search of the IOR records relating to this railway [2] gives the following: -

  • L /F/8/20/1682 “Bengal-Nagpur Railway Company Limited, Contract for the maintenance, management and working of the Mayurbhanj Railway and the Baripada-Talbond extension”

This railway was worked by a State Railway and the following IOR records relating to Staff employment are held :-
