Burma, Yonbin Forest Tramway

The 'Burma, Yonbin Forest Tramway' in the 'Northern Division' was leased by the 'Burma Forest Department' to Steel Brothers & Co Ltd under a concession agreements. The 2ft 6in/762mm narrow gauge(NG) tramway was laid in 1928-29 and used to carry trees to the Burma Railway which were then transported to the Swa Sawmill for conversion into timber. A skidding machine was used to carry the trees to the tramway. The line was still in use in 1931-21 but thought to have closed shortly after as the Swa Sawmill closed in 1931 [1].
