The Karachi Chamber of Commerce was established in 1860 with 7 founder members: McIver and Company, Barclay, Watson and Company, Fleming and Company, T. Lidbetter and Company,Finlay and Company, J.K. Dunolly and Company and Ashburner, Bell and Company. Until 1947, it was predominately European though two local firms, S. Tyabjee and Company and Ardaseer and Company did join by the end of the first year (1860).
