The Law of Copyright is too complicated to describe in detail here. In general, if you copy material written or designed by some one else, you are probably infringing copyright. As such you lay yourself open to civil and possibly criminal action. As the copyright period is now 70 years after the death of the person who originated and first published it, even material originating over 100 years ago may still be in copyright.

Furthermore there may be more than one copyright owner of some material. For example a photograph of a picture will give rise to two separate copyright ownerships - the original artist and the photographer. So although the opicture may be 200 years old and more than 70 years has elapsed since the artist's death, the photograph may still be in copyright and cannot be used without permission of the copyright owner.

Original material you post on the FIBIwiki site remains your own copyright, but by posting it here you allow ('license' is the technical term) others who use the site to see and use it, and of course to amend or delete it.
