Kurram Agency during the British period was one of five agencies amongst the Independent Tribal Areas of the North West Frontier Province. It was created in 1892, a year before the border (Durand Line) was finalised. It is now one of seven agencies which form the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) region of Pakistan.
