The Assam States Archives holds passport application records. It is possible that other State Archives in India hold similar records.
A number of duplicate passports were sent to the UK from India and these are held in the British Library under IOR/L/PJ/11. Details can be found by searching the Britsh Library Catalogue.
Passport application records at the Assam State Archives
The Assam State Archives has a download available from its website, listing passport applications for the period 1920-32 and 1936-41. Dates of birth of the applicants are also included. Refer below.
