The Sheoraphuli-Tarakeshwar Railway was a branch line opened by the Tarkessur Railway Company and worked by East Indian Railway(EIR)

The line linked Sheoraphuli and Tarakeswar and was constructed in 1885.

The line was owned by Tarkessur Railway Company and worked by East Indian Railway(EIR) as part of the EIR network. In 1915 the Company was merged into the EIR.

The line was a key part of the EIR network until 1917 when the EIR Howrah-Burdwan Chord Railway, a shorter link to Bardhaman, was constructed. [1]
