"Gabb's book provides an easily accessible account for the generation that has been born and brought up outside of the Sub-continent, who may be unaware of their forebears' history. Whilst for those who are not of Anglo-India descent it forms a good introduction to the community. The diverse European origins of the Anglo-Indian community are covered, as are the key figures who helped shape the destiny of the community during its existence.
