'''Brigadier-General Charles Robert Cureton, KP, GCSI, KCB, PC (1789-1848)''' was a British soldier who came to India in 1822 with the [[16th Lancers]] rising from lieutenant to Brevet Colonel by 1846. He served at the [[Siege of Bhurtpore 1826|Siege of Bharatpur]] in 1825, went to Kandahar with [[John Keane|Sir John Keane]] in 1839 and was at the [[Storming of Ghazni]]. He commanded a cavalry brigade at the [[Battle of Maharajpore]], the [[Battle of Aliwal]] and the [[Battle of Sobraon]]. In the [[2nd Sikh War]] he commanded the cavalry division and was killed at the [[Battle of Ramnuggar]].
