  • 1768 formed as 1st Battalion Bombay Sepoys and known as the Jangi Paltan (Fighting Battalion)
  • 1796 became 2nd Battalion 4th Regiment of Bombay Native Infantry
  • 1824 became 8th Regiment of Bombay Native Infantry
  • 1885 became 8th Regiment of Bombay Infantry
  • 1901 became 8th Bombay Infantry
  • 1903 became 108th Infantry
  • 1922 became 3rd Battalion 4th Bombay Grenadiers
  • 1930 disbanded
