The South Bihar Railway was a privately owned broad gauge(BG) line opened in 1879 connecting Luckeesarai and Kiul to Gaya, a length of 79 miles(125km) the line was operated by the East Indian Railway (EIR). [1][2] [3] [4]

The railway was privately owned by the South Bihar Railway Company and was leased to the State to be worked as part of the EIR network.
