  • 1881 became 4th Regiment of Bombay Infantry (Rifle Corps)
  • 1899 became 4th Regiment (1st Battalion Rifle Corps) Bombay Infantry
  • 1901 became 4th Bombay Rifles
  • 1903 became 104th Wellesley’s Rifles
  • 1922 became 1st Battalion 6th Rajputana Rifles
  • 1945 became 1st Battalion Rajputana Rifles
  • 1947 allocated to India on Partition
  • 1949 became 3rd Battalion, Brigade of the Guards
