- 1777 formed as the 19th Carnatic Battalion
- 1784 became the 19th Madras Battalion
- 1796 became 2nd Battalion, 10th Regiment of Madras Native Infantry
- 1824 became the 18th Regiment of Madras Native Infantry
- 1864 disbanded
