8th Punjab Regiment

8th Punjab Regiment was formed in 1922 by the amalgamation of five existing regiments and consisted of five regular battalions and a training battalion. Further Battalions were formed during the Second World War

At Independence in 1947 the 8th Punjab Regiment was allocated to Pakistan. In 1956 it was merged with the Baloch Regiment,[1] with Regimental Centre now at Abbottabad.
