At present (15 May 2009) this list is a work-in-progress some 170 lines categorised. During the course of preparing ''FIBIS Fact File #4: Research sources for Indian Railways, 1845-1947'', a far more comprehensive list of over 330 names has been produced which is included in the new publication. Ultimately those new names will be included here so check back from time to time if you do not at first find the name that you seek.
