Commissariat

The Commissariat was responsible for Army Supply. This did not include weapons and ammunition, which were the responsibliity of the Ordnance Department. Heading this department was the Commissariat General.
The Title changed to Commissariat and Transport Department 1887, Supply and Transport Corps 1901, Indian Army Service Corps 1923, Royal Indian Army Service Corps 1935
