Damoodah Canal Construction Tramway
The Bengal Presidency Public Works Department constructed the 'Damoodah Canal' from 1890. The irrigation canal, 100 miles(160km) in length runs between the Damoodah (now called the Damodar) River and the Hooghly River [1].
A Construction Tramway of unknown gauge was laid between the laterite quarries at Munglepoor to the headworks at Raniganj (with alternative spellings Raneegunge and Raneegungee) [1].
