General Sir Henry Dermot Daly KCB CIE GCO (1821-1895) was an army officer in the East India Company. He joined the 1st Bombay European Regiment in 1840 and served in the 2nd Sikh War. He raised the 1st Punjab Cavalry in 1849 and fought on the North West Frontier under Sir Colin Campbell. He commanded the Guides Cavalry and was present at the Siege of Delhi and the [[Relief of Lucknow].] He comanded the brigade of three regiments of Hodson's Horse in the Oude Campaign. He commanded the Central India Horse and was a political officer in Central India. He retired to his native Isle of Wight.
