Marala Sleeper Works Railway
A sleeper treatment plant located at Marala on the banks of the Chenab River constructed and operated by the North Western Railway(NWR). The plant opened in 1917 and the records show it had 4 miles(6.4km) of 2ft 6in/762mm narrow gauge(NG) track and operated two locomotives and twenty wagons. The operations and equipment were transferred to the 'NWR Dhilwan Sleeper Works' [1] which commenced operations in 1923 [2].
