Motipur Sugar Factory Railway

The Motipur Sugar Factory, Motipur, Muzaffapur District, Bihar State, was established in 1933 [1].

A short metre gauge(MG) branch line connected the factory just north of Motipur station [1] to the MG Bengal and North-Western Railway(B&NWR) 'Bachhwara-Bahaha Branch Line'.

The 2ft/610mm narrow gauge(NG) system went north-westward for 2 km then 5km south-westward, crossing a canal to a junction, one line to a cane loading point at Jasauli, the other to Morarpur [1].
