Sir Pierre Louis Napoleon Cavagnari KCB CSI (1841–1879), was an East India Company army officer and military administrator. He served in the Oudh Campaign during the Indian Mutiny and then as Assistant Commissioner in Peshawar. During the 2nd Afghan War he negotiated the Treaty of Gandamak and was appointed resident at Kabul. He was killed with his escort of Guides prior to the second invasion of British forces.
