Chronology
- 1764 raised in Calcutta by the Town Major under command of Captain Douglas Hill
- 1765 ranked as the 19th Battalion of Bengal Native Infantry
- 1775 renumbered the 20th Regiment of Bengal Native Infantry
- 1781 became the 20th Regiment of Bengal Native Infantry under Captain Grant
- 1781 mutinied over prize money and was broken up
