1st Raising
- 1778 raised as 35th Battalion
- 1781 became 28th Regiment of Bengal Native Infantry
- 1784 became 31st Regiment of Bengal Native Infantry
- 1785 disbanded
2nd Raising
- 1786 raised from extra companies of the old corps as 35th Battalion
- 1796 absorbed by the 5th Regiment of Bengal Native Infantry
- 1824 1st Battalion became 3rd Regiment of Bengal Native Infantry under Major S P Bishop; 2nd Battalion became 18th Regiment of Bengal Native Infantry under Major W W Davis
