Chronology
- 1803 raised as 1st Btn 21st Regiment of Bengal Native Infantry following 1796 reorganisation when previous 21st was absorbed by the 12th Regiment
- 1824 1st Battalion became 41st Regiment of Bengal Native Infantry under Major C Peach
- 1857 mutinied at Seetapore (Sitapur) on 4 June
