The Imperial Gazetteer [1] states :-
'Behar is traversed from east to west by the Nagpur Branch of the Great Indian Peninsula Railway(GIPR), the length of the line in the province being 152 miles. From this main line two small state railways branch off, one from Jamam to Khamgaon (8 miles) and the other from Baderna (6 miles). The Khamgaon and Amraoti State Railways are worked by the GIPR‘
