Bhurkunda Colliery, a State Colliery, an output of 87,000 tons for 1935-36, falling to 67,000 tons in 1936-37 but responded towards the end of a year responding to an increased demand for Railway coal. Connected to the ‘Central Indian Coalfields Railway’ near Barkakana [1]
