John Keane, 1st Baron Keane, GCB, GCH (1781-1844), was a British soldier who came to India in 1833 as Commander-in-Chief of the Bombay Presidency. He commanded the Army of the Indus in the 1st Afghan War. He was Commander-in-Chief of the Bombay Presidency. Due to his volatile character he was denied appointment as Commander-in-Chief in India.
