Sasaram Quarry Tramway
The Sasaram Quarries at Dumarkhar, Bihar State, were first opened for supplying stone for the Sone Canal Construction that took place from 1868 and completed in 1874. The quaries were later taken over by the East Indian Railway(EIR) [1].
A 15 mile(24km) long 2ft/610mm narrow gauge(NG) tramway linked the quarries to the Dehri-Rohtas Light Railway, however it is not clear when the line was opened. The line appears to have been taken over by DRLR in 1943 and later re-laid to 2ft 6in gauge. The quarries were worked out by 1969-70 and closed [1].
