Platoon

In the 18th century a Regiment comprised approximately 20 Platoons of 24 men each, between 2 and 4 of which were Grenadiers (Infantry) or of Light Cavalry (Cavalry). The term Platoon was rarely used in the 19th century but revived in the 20th century.
