Comment on Location
The external link to Google Books has Brig Seaton's account of the conflict on 7 April written from camp at Fatehgarh. This describes the rebel forces being near Kumpil. He decided to move across the river to confront the main body near Bangown. He found the enemy at the village of Khankhur where he defeated them remnants making off towards Ala Gunge.
The modern map shows and Google Earth shows Kampil to be near the Ganges about 20 miles from Fatehgarh with a place called Bhongaon about 12 miles away and Aliganj to the south.
