Chronology
- 1797 raised as 2nd Btn 14th Regiment of Bengal Native Infantry following 1796 reorganisation when previous 14th became 2nd Btn 10th Regt
- 1824 1st Battalion became 29th Regiment of Bengal Native Infantry under Major A Galloway
- 1857 mutinied at Moradabad in June
In 1861, after the mutiny, the title was given to the 21st Regiment of Punjab Infantry which later became the 29th Regiment of Punjab Infantry.
