Chronology
- 1786 raised from extra companies of the old corps as 35th Battalion
- 1796 absorbed by the 6th Regiment of Bengal Native Infantry
- 1824 1st Battalion became 3rd Regiment of Bengal Native Infantry under Major S P Bishop; 2nd Battalion became 18th Regiment of Bengal Native Infantry under Major W W Davis
